Creation Verified

Q1. Recount the creation: God's making and ordering of the world and humanity's place in it.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth , making all things out of nothing by the word of his power and all very good . He made man, male and female, in his own image , and placed him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it , giving him dominion over the creatures . God entered into a covenant of life with Adam as the representative head of mankind, promising life upon perfect obedience and threatening death for disobedience: "in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die" . In the estate of innocence Adam enjoyed communion with God and the gift of the Sabbath, for God rested on the seventh day and made it holy . So the world began not in chaos but in ordered goodness under God, with man as his image-bearer and covenant servant, made to glorify and enjoy his Maker.
